How to Use the Running Pace Calculator
Choose what you want to calculate — pace, time, or distance — then enter the other two values. The calculator instantly shows your result along with equivalent speed and race estimates at the same pace.
Understanding Running Pace
Running pace is the time it takes to cover one unit of distance, typically expressed as minutes per kilometer (min/km) or minutes per mile (min/mi). A lower pace number means faster running.
Common Race Distances
- 5K — 5 kilometers (3.107 miles), the most popular race distance worldwide
- 10K — 10 kilometers (6.214 miles)
- Half Marathon — 21.0975 km (13.109 miles)
- Marathon — 42.195 km (26.219 miles)
Tips for Race Day Pacing
Consistent pacing is key to a good race. Use the Split Strategy Planner to plan even, negative, or positive splits, and print a Pace Band to wear on race day.
